Mokshaa used to be a small school in a small town near Atlantic City, NJ. However, with the dedication of its founding director, Ruchi Chowdahary, Mokshaa now spans across the tri-state area with eight current locations and many more on its way. Ruchi has been dancing since the age of 6 and has been trained in Bharatnatyam, Bollywood Fusion, Hip Hip and many other styles. She started teaching and choreographing at the age of 15 and hasn’t stopped since! To Ruchi, dance is an electric formation of unspoken thought and she is devoted to show all of her students how amazing dancing is. However, Ruchi teaches her students more than just dance. She has trained many young dancers to become leaders in the school and has instilled in them patience, discipline, and commitment. She enjoys being a mentor and role model to her students and cherishes watching them blossom into not only better dancers, but into better versions of themselves. Ruchi has taken her students to participate in local community events as part of her dedication to sparking an interest of dance and Indian culture in today’s generation. Winner of the Best Youngest Choreographer award through Naach Revolution, Ruchi has led her students to take home trophies at major competitions, and has participated as a judge at many competitions herself. In addition, she has worked with well-known celebrities such as Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Mika Singh, Sonu Nigam, and Preity Zinta and has choreographed for the Bollywood movie Haste Haste. Ruchi is also the founder of Mokshaa Fitness and the supervisor of MokshaaTalks. Ruchi has built the world of Mokshaa from the ground up. She is very proud of every student who has learned from her and grateful to every member of the Mokshaa team who has helped her along the way.
